The Adventurer’s Guild was the first Emperor’s replacement for a standing military. Having been founded on the backs of adventurers, who better than to guard it than the very same? With offices in all the major cities, the guild manages a large queue of requests made by towns and villages, dealing with anything from guards for a caravan to clearing out a bandit camp. Divided into different levels, amounts of completed missions determine the pecking order of adventurers as well as access to the more valuable services offered by the guild.
In addition to managing jobs, the guild also collects information that adventurers, whether on official business or not, find while wandering the uncivilized lands. This is made available to all other adventurers, promoting a culture of cooperation and camaraderie instead of fierce competition.
